Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy is unusually short, because right now this website collects no personal data at all. We've written it in plain English on purpose, and it reflects the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

The short version

  • There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no email collection on this site yet.
  • We use no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers — which is why you don't see a cookie banner.
  • The benefits checker runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are processed on your device to show your results and are never sent to us, stored by us, or seen by us.
  • We don't sell, share or receive any personal data about you, because we don't have any.

The benefits checker

The free benefits checker works entirely on your device. The questions and answers are processed by your own browser to show which benefits could be worth checking; nothing you enter is transmitted over the internet, logged, or linked to you in any way. If you close the page, your answers are gone.

When this will change

Before we launch, we plan to open a waitlist that collects email addresses with your consent. When that happens, this policy will be updated first — including who the data controller is, their full legal and contact details, exactly what we collect and why, how long we keep it, and how to exercise your rights (access, correction, erasure, objection and withdrawal of consent) under UK GDPR. No personal data will be collected before those details are published here.

Your rights

UK GDPR gives you rights over personal data an organisation holds about you. Because we hold none, there is currently nothing to exercise them against — but you always have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

A note on the information in our guides

Our guides and checker provide general information about UK benefits and care, not financial, legal or medical advice. Benefit rates and rules change; always check current figures on gov.uk or take advice from a regulated professional or a free service such as Citizens Advice.

Changes to this policy

If anything above changes — for example when the waitlist opens or the Kinsorted app launches — we'll update this page and change the date at the top before the change takes effect.
